Southern Maryland News Featured Recovery Centers of America Capital Region’s Eight-Year Anniversary Celebration

Southern Maryland News featured Recovery Centers of America Capital Region in Waldorf as the facility celebrated eight years of service — bringing together community partners, clinicians, local leaders, and alumni to mark the impact the center has made since opening its doors.

In eight years, RCA Capital Region has helped more than 8,000 patients — a milestone that reflects the facility’s role as a cornerstone of addiction treatment in the region. CEO Lamar Frizzell used the occasion to look ahead, announcing plans to open RCA’s first outpatient services in Virginia and new sober living facilities for patients in partial hospitalization and intensive outpatient programs.

The celebration was grounded by the voices that matter most — patients. Roland Wright, an alumnus who first sought treatment in 2024, described an organization that came to him when he was ready, picked him up, and walked him through what recovery actually requires. His message was simple: if you’re willing, this is where you want to come.

For Recovery Centers of America, the Southern Maryland News feature captures what eight years of community-rooted care looks like — thousands of lives changed and a facility still growing to meet the need.
