Yuma Sun and KYMA Featured OneAZ Credit Union’s Community Impact Grants Benefiting Three Yuma Nonprofits

Yuma Sun and KYMA both featured OneAZ Credit Union’s OneAZ Community Foundation in coverage spotlighting $7,500 Community Impact Grants awarded to three Yuma-area nonprofits — the Yuma Community Food Bank, United Way of Yuma County, and Yuma Crossing National Heritage Area.

The grants are part of OneAZ’s 2026 giving cycle, which distributed $360,000 to 48 nonprofits statewide — an increase from prior years, timed to celebrate the credit union’s upcoming 75th anniversary. The Yuma Community Food Bank directed its funding toward fresh dairy, a notoriously difficult item to keep stocked given its limited shelf life and refrigeration requirements. The food bank plans to use the grant to purchase approximately 1,600 gallons of milk for distribution across multiple centers serving San Luis, Somerton, Dateland, Tacna, Wellton, and La Paz County.

What makes the program distinctive is how it’s funded. Every time a OneAZ member swipes their debit card, the credit union deposits one cent into the foundation’s account — turning everyday spending into sustained community investment. Since its founding in 2016, the OneAZ Community Foundation has donated more than $3.5 million to nonprofits across Arizona.

For OneAZ Credit Union, back-to-back coverage in Yuma Sun and KYMA reinforces its standing as a deeply community-rooted institution — one whose giving reaches into the zip codes that need it most.
